‘Boko Haram Is Not An Islam, Is A Conspiracy Hatched To Tarnish The Image Of Islam’

The  former President of the National Council of Muslim Youths (NACOMYO), Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni, has described the Boko Haram insurgency as “a conspiracy hatched to tarnish the image of Islam and tag Muslims as violent and rebellious people”.

Sanni, who is also chairman, Ibadan Muslim Community in Oyo State, made the assertion while delivering the Ramadan lecture series organised by Islamic Missionaries Association of Nigeria (IMAN) in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Speaking on the topic, “Western Propaganda Against Islam”, the Islamic scholar called on the federal government to tackle the menace of Boko Haram head-on, noting that with sincerity of purpose on its part, the insurgency would be surmounted. He also expressed confidence in the Nigerian Armed Forces to defeat the terrorists.

Sanni further implored Muslims to live in accordance with the teachings of the Quran and traditions of Prophet Mohammed in order to surmount the challenges confronting the religion.

“Allah will not change the conditions of people until they make efforts to change their conditions. He has given us guidelines in the holy Quran on how we are supposed to live our lives”, he said.
